I'M SORRY THE BACKGROUND FAILS AMAZINGLY.
But I wanted to get a "bare" feeling for Brainy's room - if he was just brought up in Colu instead of raised with affection as is rumoured, I don't think his room would be brightly coloured or even full of many possessions at that age.

For the second day of Clark/Brainy week on .
When They Were Young Wednesday: What if they met when one or both of them were kids?
Brainy's about six or seven here, Clark's about nine or ten.
I KNOW THEIR AGE DIFFERENCE WOULDN'T MAKE THAT POSSIBLE BUT JUST WORK WITH ME HERE.

Clark wasn't good remembering faces. Names stuck in his mind like glue, but trying to add features to some of the faceless people from his memories always proved a problem for the Man of Steel. But every so often, he found it worked the other way around.
He remembered as a young boy the first time he had properly explored the early extents of his powers, flying far into space and exciting himself with the findings of new planets and stars. However, one planet instantly piqued Clark's curiosity above all the others he passed - a mechanical world with tall buildings and wide skies.
But it wasn't the features that caused the planet - the name of which he was still unsure of - to nag at the back of his mind, it was the boy he had sighted while exploring, the only inhabitant to have set eyes on the Boy of Steel in all his escapades to other worlds.
He had flown up to a top-floor window in hopes of getting a peek inside the homes on the strange planet, only to find a young alien boy staring straight back at him with piercing eyes, his small mouth hanging half open in surprise. And Clark had been surprised too, when the first thing the boy did wasn't to scream or call for his parents, but to open the window.
Clark couldn't ever forget the warmth he felt when he held the small boy tightly in his arms, feeling a scrabbling cling in return, or the way the alien's wide eyes lit up with excitement and a hint of fear as the future Superman took him for a flight above the tallest buildings on his planet.
...But really, his memory had stored all that - even equating through new information that the planet must be Colu - yet he still couldn't remember his playmate's face at all.
He was brought back down to Earth by a tap on his shoulder, tilting his head down to see Brainiac 5 staring up at him with deep purple eyes.
"Clark, are you listening to a word I'm saying?"
Something clicked.

Ohhh gosh, TL;DR.
