Took me a little while to do this, but I still managed to get it. This is based on a speculation I had on how godzilla MIGHT look in the 2023 TOHO film.

I took the idea that the film will apparently be set in post-war Japan between 1945 and 1947 and went with it just a bit. I wanted to try and make it look something traditional in the shodaigoji look while still making changes to it to differenciate it from the old 50's design.

For instance:

The head is slightly bigger.

The hands are changed.

It has a thicker neck.

The arms and legs are beefier.

The Feet are changed and the claws are all different compared to the original.

The tail is longer.

The teeth are more curved compared to the original.

The eyes are pupiless.

The nose is different.

Ears are different.

The brows are thinner with a slight angry look.

There are the addition of spikes on part of his body.

And the dorsal fins, while similar to the old look, still have some differences to set them apart.

And it should be noted that later, when I'm able to, I will later add the scales just so I can start putting more detail in and the patterns will be somewhat like that of the scales on Godzilla seen in the storyboards for the 1954 film (which was the inspiration for the nose and ears).

And lastly, this is just a fun little speculation design, it's still way to early to know just what godzilla will look like in the upcoming toho film. There's still a lot of time and this could all change in a few months or so.

I know this update came fast. But I have the scales that I said I'd put on the godzilla later. Took me a while to get through it all, but I got it. The reason the scales stop at the hands and feet is based on some images of the storyboard design (either offical or fanmade) that have the scales stopping at those particular parts.

You can still see the old version without the scales if you prefer it without them though.

(Update: 05/02/2022).

Yep, updated again. But this time it's a little more drastic. The heads has been changed to give it a more vicious look as well as the fins. The head is a little more based on one of the Maquette designs of ShodaiGoji while having much more jagged teeth (not in the same way as shin). I also wanted to touch up on the tail too. Just because.

There's also a non scaled version.
