Description
For those who don't follow me on twitter, I had considered on doing a redesign on Muto Prime from Godzilla: Aftershock. Now If you ask me, I don't think Muto Prime is a bad design. It probably isn't the best when it comes to a relatives to Mutos, but to say it's one of the worsts is a bit of a stretch. So, I decided to redesign it to try and make it consistent with the designs of the other mutos while keeping some of the features from the original design to keep it unique. I also took inspiration from other fan designs as well when doing this. Now, as you can see, I used the queen muto as the base for the design before making the alterations. Well, the reason for this is how I see the muto queen as something similar to the Xenomorph queen while the muto prime i think is something similar to the matriarch or queen mother where it's a much older queen who's further evolved and adapted over the rest.
Also, if you're wondering why there are red veins-like patterns on some parts of the arms, it's because several panels of aftershock showed muto prime possessing these veins. But seeing as how I could find what the exact pattern was, I did one of my own. Could have been better but I still did what I could.
I will eventually get back to doing the rest of the jurassic/fossil fusions, but I want to go back and do some redos of a few composite kaiju designs first. I just feel like I could do a bit better with them.
(Update: 02/01/2024).
For quite some time, I felt compelled to redo my Muto Prime redesign (especially after the spiral studio statue was first revealed). And since I lost access to the lines and colors of the previous version, I figured I might as well get on with it. I changed up the front legs in order to try and make them look a little less like variants of Orga's hands and more of just more beefy variants of Muto's front limbs. I also did the trick of having certain line patterns ending half way just as a means of showing the patterns without putting it on every edge of the limbs. But in spite of these changes, one thing I wanted to make sure remain was having the design have elements of the Muto Queen and I think I especially did good with it this time around. But, if you still prefered the previous version, it's here.
