Description For the seventh time now, I've been spending time working on sprites to a game I'm trying to work on, which has as many characters as possible from as many things as possible in it...currently it's known by the working title, "Ultimate Showdown". Since I don't know how to do 3D art exactly, I am forced to do 2D pixel art (which I love doing anyway but for this game I'd prefer 3D).

Here are the seventh batch of 30 characters, bringing the grand total up to 210. Unlike the first sheet, no characters have alternate 'costumes' done, as I have been strictly attempting to get these finished and added to deviantART here as quickly as possible. I tend to generally do something involving Final Fantasy VII in the seventh of series things that I do, hence this sheet being mostly based around that game. Anyway, here's the list:

Here is a full list of all the characters shown:

1ST ROW
The Sandman -- William "Flint Marko" Baker (Marvel Comics)
Spider-Man -- Peter Benjamin Parker (Marvel Comics)
Palmer (Final Fantasy VII)
President Rufus Shinra (Final Fantasy VII)
Biggs (Final Fantasy VII)
Wedge (Final Fantasy VII)
Lucrecia Crescent (Final Fantasy VII)
Dyne (Final Fantasy VII)
Robin I -- Richard John "Dick" Grayson (DC Comics)
The Red Hood I (DC Comics)

2ND ROW
Gilgamesh "Gil" (Tower of Druaga)
Vincent Valentine (Final Fantasy VII)
Tifa Lockheart (Final Fantasy VII)
Aeris Gainsborough (Final Fantasy VII)
Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII)
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)
Yuffie Kisaragi (Final Fantasy VII)
Cait Sith I & II -- Reeve Tuesti (Final Fantasy VII)
Red XIII -- Nanaki (Final Fantasy VII)
Don Karnage (TaleSpin)

3RD ROW
The Swamp Thing -- Alec Holland, but not really (DC Comics)
Spock (Star Trek)
Galen Marek, Codename: Starkiller (Star Wars)
Tseng (Final Fantasy VII)
Reno (Final Fantasy VII)
Rude (Final Fantasy VII)
Elena (Final Fantasy VII)
Daniel "The Candyman" Robitaille (Candyman)
Sir Uther the Lightbringer (Warcraft)
Solomon Grundy -- Cyrus Gold (DC Comics)

Every time I finish 30 separate characters, I'll add another sheet, like I've been doing. If I end up doing another spritesheet of a singular character as I did with Saul Malone a while back, I will post those as well.

If there are any characters you'd like to see on here, please feel free to suggest one -- I have a few hundred characters on a waiting list currently, and any suggestions are welcome, even if the character's already on my list (as then they'll be next in line to be sprited!). Currently I'm only working on characters who are roughly human-sized, though, as characters as huge as Godzilla or Kraid would take an obnoxious amount of effort and time to complete on a proper scale to the human-height sprites already made.

This file has been enlarged to twice its original size for your (better) viewing pleasure.

Obviously, characters are copyright their respective copyright holders. I certainly don't want to get sued, y'know.

Good eye! Though technically it isn't a Bomberman base, per se—the sprites were originally created around mid-1999 for a Bomberman game I was working on called Sonic Bomberman, completely from scratch (so, as a Bomberman fan game the sprites were intentionally as identical to the specific game I liked playing best as they could be because I wanted it to be immediately recognizable as a Bomberman game yet had no idea what the Printscreen button was, nor were sprites easy to find to use as bases back then; I would sprite them, double check with the game to see if I was close enough, redo what needed to be done I thought, et cetera).

You can see a number of the original 1999 sprites in Ultimate Showdown Sheet #1, though unfortunately well over half of the characters I haven't had access to the files anymore, such as Big the Cat, Tails, Metal Sonic, Chaos, E-101 Gamma, and others.

Interestingly, the sprite style was actually intended to be just the alpha version of the sprites, and several other more stylized replacements were being played with on and off but then out of nowhere it started to accrue fans so this sprite style just sorta stuck. After a few hundred characters or so I really started to enjoy using it and gave up on eventually completely replacing them at some point. It's evolved quite a bit over time but the average male and female bases are still intentionally reminiscent of Bomberman as props to the origin of the games and as a respect for what the fans initially showed up and got to see. There's actually a newer 'base' for the average males and females that I have been converting old characters too behind the scenes but I haven't updated any of the art shown on here for the sake of nostalgia for the fans.

...Wow, sorry, that ended up a waaaaay longer description than I intended.

It's because it is the seventh sheet.

I often dedicate the seventh of something to Final Fantasy VII, actually...although nothing I've posted on here, certainly. MOST of my art hasn't ended up on here, to be honest...I should really do something about that.

And there's 12 non-FF7 characters on the sheet, actually. lol

And upon reviewing them, you are right. I forgot that I had done that before, too. It was due to hoping to be able to make a sheet per universe - so, for instance, 30 Mortal Kombat characters, 30 Masters of the Universe characters, et cetera. I suppose I had done them so sparingly at this point I had forgotten that I had done it before that...oh well.
