Description ‘What have you got yourself into now Bluebell?’ I thought glumly as I twisted my body against the winding ropes keeping me fixed against the plant stem. My blue ankle boots rustled the leave litter under my feet as I twisted against my bonds, even as I tried fluttering my blue tinted wings to make my escape but the cords kept me anchored to the ground.

I wasn’t the only one in this position. On either side of me were my two flatmates, golden haired Marigold and green haired Fern, both of whom were also struggling against identical bonds and murmuring through white rags which had been washed in silencing powder, meaning our words were muffled beyond recognition. I too could only muster a few garbled words as I found myself staring into the face of our captors.

None of us had intended to have ended up like this when we ventured away from our home city of Daffoville for a picnic in the forest. But on the way we’d heard someone calling for help, crying out that their son had fallen into the stream. Naturally Fern, Marigold and I had flown over as fast as our wings would carry us, but when we got there we found no-one was in danger at all, and that actually we’d walked into a trap. We only realised as such when the magic words, “Bondara e Mufflisca,” were uttered by three separate voices, and enchanted ropes and whipping rags flew through the air to secure us like this.

Those responsible looked like Nymphs, but had no wings, paler skin and darker hair colours. They were Pixies, our mischievous and dangerous cousins who we often clashed with. And this trio of Pixie magic users had obviously a score to settle with us. “You’re the three nymphs responsible for putting our best friend Briar away in your prison,” said their leader, a young male with long, jet black hair. “You’re going to be our hostages until we can secure her release in exchange for yours.”

‘Briar can’t be released,’ I thought unhappily. If only I could remove this gag so I could use my own magical abilities to take our captives on in a fair fight. I needed for my gag to be removed for that to happen. I rested my long blue tresses against the plant stem, during which I felt a small offshoot press against my cheek. I realised it was quite strong, possibly strong enough for me to catch my gag on it and remove it. With the cackling Pixies building a fire and my two friends watching hopefully, I set to work trying to do just that.

Reposting this pic of my Nymph OC Bluebell and her friends Marigold in Fern, who find themselves at the mercy of some mischievous Pixies.

I never liked this pic, purely because this is nothing like how I imagined these characters at all: Blue's hair is too long, their wings are too big, just to name a couple things.

Interesting points. I'll give you the wings because the size of fairy wings seem to differ from artist to artist, but Blue's hair is supposed to be roughly that length in the stories. What do you think of the other Bluebell pics done by other artists?

I think my problem will always be that I've got such a clear picture of Bluebell in my head that anything anyone will do will be wrong in my eyes.  Its like when you see the actor who portrays a character on radio for the first time, invariably you always have them wrong.

Well I'm glad you have such an evocative picture of Bluebell in your head. It's encouraging for any writer to hear that

I remember this pic from before.  Nice to read a little vignette to go with it.

Thought it would be nice to add something else as opposed to just reposting the pic on its own. Glad you liked it
