Description
There is a time at the end of each day when it is not quite day and not quite night; when the ordinary world begins to turn its head toward home and hearth and bed, and while the magical world lights its lamps, opens its doors, and begins breathing out the soft sounds and scents of evening.

Even if you can't hear the haunting song of dusk, or see the fairies as they come drifting out to play, you'll know that time instinctively: when it feels as though all that which the sun illuminates is dull and ordinary, but that right around the corner, tucked in the shade, are worlds of magic and wonder waiting to be discovered. That is why we call it Magic Time.

Magic Time is a real thing. It is most noticeable, I find, in the spring and fall when the twilight changes rabidly. I remember as a small child I always found it rather exciting, and hoped that if I kept looking, I might find someone like Tobius here waiting around a corner.

But now it is long past Magic Time where I am, and I need to go to sleep.
