Description Third and final in a series of three watercolor paintings I'm doing illustrating the Trinity of Magic: Divine, Arcane, and Nature. Shown here is the Angel of Nature Magic, and her Green Rider. (Yes, the horse is the actual Angel, the rider is just sort of a puppet that talks and listens, but never thinks.)

The Trinity of Magic, as anyone who is in tune with my inner most thoughts could tell you, is a well known faction of the Etherielist religion. Much as the Christians have the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Ehterielists have the Three Horses of Magic, representing the Trinity of Magic, that holds the flow of mystical energies in check.

The Nature Angel is the odd one out of the trinity. Whether she came before or after is not known, but while Divine and Arcane tend to work together, the Angel of Nature is always alone. Her powers extend into the realms of life and death, much like the balance of nature itself. She is represented by a chestnut Brumby (or Australian Wild Horse) mare. Unlike her counterparts, the Angel of Nature's puppet rarely rides on her back, but is lead around by the rope it holds in its hand. Her emblems are are the blooming cherry branch, and the dead oak.

Watercolor on paper. Original size 12"x9", you can see the Divine Angel at [link] and the Arcane Angel at [link]

Extra note: Now that I'm done with the series I can tell you: All the puppets (i.e. the human figures) have figurative wings blended into the background. I'll leave it up to you to find them.

They must be at a ruin of some sort. It’s odd how the stone path just ends.
I think this horse looks the most natural, which probably makes sense considering she is the spirit of nature.
This rider has wings of little trees.

Yup, one blooming one dead, to symbolize the circle of life and death all nature goes through.

Oh man, the wings are just too obvious here.

That's because the puppet isn't sitting on the horse, makes them a bit more conspicuous.

One wing is a branch of cherry blossoms, the other is a dead oak. ^^
