The coloring work and lighting is very well done. However, I'm puzzled by the anatomy. Such a slender, gracile neck, tail, and torso, but such huge, thick, blocky limbs. Honestly, those limbs are so big and thick they would look off on anything but an overweight watchwher. Take a look at some photographs of real animals to get a feel for how limbs - even powerful, muscular ones - attach to and are proportioned next to the torso.Β

Thank you for your feedback!
I tried to draw a gracile dragon which is too small compared with others but still strong enough to fly and carry passengers and definetely overdo it in some parts. I'll try to pay more attention to proportions next time

I see where you had that concern! Keep in mind that with Pernese dragons, they are telekinetic. How much they can carry is literally how much they BELIEVE they can carry. This was stated directly in the books and is canon information. So you don't have to worry as much about giving them big strong muscles - whether it's Ruth or any Pern dragon. Ruth in particular should look more slender and fragile than the rest, but none of them need to be massive powerhouses. It's one of the interesting things about Pern dragons IMO, that their strength is so much in their minds rather than their bodies. Did I mention how excellent your lighting and atmosphere is though? If I did I'm saying it again. That part is -perfect-. You have an excellent grasp of lighting conditions.Β

Thank you for the explanation. Now I see my fault. I read the first three books about dragonriders years ago but only recently have discovered, that the series consists of many more and now I'm somewhere in the middle of ancient Pern. Probably haven't reached the right moment yet.
Thanks again for the feedback and such a thoughtful answer!

No problem! If you'd never read the book where it says that how could you know? FWIW that tidbit comes from the books set later in Pern's history, after the initial trilogy historically. IIRC it's in All the Weyrs of Pern. To be completely candid, I don't recommend the books written by or with Todd... but the books Anne wrote before she died are definitely worth reading. They contain a lot of fascinating Pern lore, especially if you like to draw or roleplay or write Pern fanfiction.
