Description Comission for
And with this opens a new kind of commission, I'll be figuring out how to add it to my sheets soon. For 7.50 $ or 600 points, You can get my help designing a character in this manner. It includes a little face-forward headshot and a side body in that, or a similar pose, and only very light shading. I have a great love for helping bring people's character ideas into something detailed and stylized, especially the little things like how the spines look or how the head is shaped a author tends to not decide on, hence the cheep price.

Note- other discount criteria do not apply to these.

Is it me, or are you suddenly a lot better at faces? They look so alive in these recent pics. Love the headshot.

I'm noticing a bit of colour pixelation around the edges of your recent pics, or in sharp corners. Look at this guy's horns, for example. There's still red in the corners and at the sharp tips, where the magic wand tool can't reach. Something to keep an eye on in the future, at least. It'll make your pics look that much cleaner.

Yeah, she's pretty great, which works wonders here: Taxid is one of the most handsome princes Avalar has ever had, but he's a proud sod, and to many people, his heads as empty as a plant pot.

Sorry for comment stalking, I just like to scroll through work I've commissioned in my spare time.

And as for the faces the softer brush helps me replicate what I do easily IRL better XD

YEah, I started using a softer brush because I like it better but the magic wand doesn't like it ;_;

The same thing happens to me. All you have to do is zoom in close and paint in the pixels manually. It can be a little time-consuming, depending on how many sharp edges the lineart has, but it's worth it for a cleaner finish.Β

Ah, Crown Prince Taxid...soon your story shall be written!

Seriously, me and were talking about him a while back, and his character got seriously revamped in the process. You might remember him as being a selfish and entitled brat who was TooDumbToLive? Well, we're going to find out just why...there's more to his character, and there's a reason why he's the way he is!

Hmm, come to think of it, , weren't you saying in a message earlier that you were thinking of potentially getting more pictures of MaleDdraig at some point? Perhaps you could have one done of MaleDdraig, Taxid and Eve together in a scene from the as-yet-unwritten Taxid's Story!

Ddraigtanto In reply to AMCAlmaron [2015-01-11 22:15:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've spoken with to some extent about it myself: My desire was for a scene where Ddraig is first trying to teach Taxid by making him read something and, of course, Taxid gets quite antagonistic about it. The addition of Eve would reduce the tension quite a bit, as she's much softer than Ddraig in such regards, and might suggest she's something of a natural teacher.

But yeah, I like this new look for Taxid: Look at his facial frills! It's like an adolescent human male whose able to grow facial hair earlier than everyone else, and is showing it off. Hi necklace is much more interesting now too.
(This is also the chapter of that mini-series again Teaching Taxid, Act One: Suggestions From a Baron.Life settled down into normality again in Avalar, or at least, it tried to. Trouble was brewing in the world, and Avalar was caught right in the middle of it.
However, where many dragons, including Ddraig, saw cause to worry, King Gether saw opportunity: The two human suprerpowers of the West and East were paranoid, and in their paranoia, Gether could sow seeds he could profit from on both sides.
Gether was in especially good spirits on day in the 1950s: Though careful diplomacy and skilled embassy staff, Gether had managed to set up permanent ambassadors in both the United States, and the Soviet Union: Both sides, desperate to prevent Avalar from sliding towards supporting the other, had begun to channel funds to the Avalarian Crown, unaware both sides had the exact same idea. However, one thing, on this particular day, had consumed all of Gether's attention: It was his son's birthday, he was now 133 human years of age, growing into a strong young teenager.
To celebrate this, G in case you lost the original link.)

Sounds good. It could also be that Eve knows her father well by this point, and so steps in to defuse a situation before Ddraig can get grumpy and make things worse...perhaps she just reads it to Taxid as a way of compromise.

Yes, I like that too; it's almost like that draconic beard thing I mentioned earlier! It also gives him...a sort of history? It's like he's showing off some genetic heritage of his line...very cool in any case, and a bit sad that it got lost in the end.

Very true...which is good! You'll have turned a character people thought was a scumbag into someone that they're rooting for and who they'll be gutted to see die just when he could have had a chance to become the King his father wanted him to be.

I wonder if he could show up as a spirit at some point...perhaps there could be a short about what happened to certain characters after they die? Or...wait, I've got it! After all the stuff with Taxid and him going back to his family, have a short chapter and epilogue showing the Battle of Warfang...Taxid emerges from the shelter and finds his father dead, and so tries to be the King that he should be, to give his people confidence...but he ends up being killed along with his mother who's rushing after him to save him because the Golem is just too powerful. Not long afterwards, he "wakes" and finds himself in the White Isle with his mother, and his father, who's been waiting for them. Gether can lament that his line has ended, but he and Taxid could then reconcile, because Taxid did everything right in his final moments, and in glancing at his book with the Chronicler, Gether can see that Taxid was indeed trying his whole life, and he just never saw it, so he'll apologise, and then they'll go off as a family to whatever awaits them...Gether would probably be a High Spirit, so he could have been talking with the Chronicler about that.

On top of that, you could also have Queen Zephrya and King Arkebus there with him, and the three embracing (both Gether and Zephrya were badly affected by Arkebus' loss, and Gether and Zephrya weren't exactly on great terms by the end, as Gether resented her for being useless at her job and moping)...Taxid could also glance with curiosity at the grandparents he never met.

AMCAlmaron In reply to Ddraigtanto [2015-01-12 00:18:58 +0000 UTC]

I dunno, I think that could be a poignant yet happy ending...he may have died, but he and his family have reconciled, and Taxid left quite a good legacy...right now, people might think he's foolish, but Ddraig and eyewitnesses will work to fix that, and he might even be commemorated with a heroic statue showing him valiantly fighting the Golem, even though it was many times his size and he wasn't even a fully grown dragon...foolish, yes, but also incredibly brave, and it would have made quite the impact that the last of the Lucien Kings was trying to defend his people instead of hiding and staying safe. Perhaps Ddraig would have had him posthumously crowned or recognised as King (they could have placed a crown on his coffin at the proper ceremony, and then placed their family in the imperial crypt or a newly-created tomb).

AMCAlmaron In reply to Ddraigtanto [2015-01-12 00:34:13 +0000 UTC]

On another note, just had a look at the latest chapter of Taxid's story...'tis looking pretty good! One line I think you should fix, though, is "Gether growled, sitting up, a growl escaping him." ...growling while growling? Oh, and a minor spelling error; "dilluded" should be "deluded".

I wonder, should Ddraig be the one to come up with the idea to look after Taxid for a bit, or should it be Gether? Part of me thinks Ddraig came up with the idea a bit too quickly...I mean, it could work, but I sort of think there should be another line or two in there. Or perhaps Ddraig could suggest that Gether place his son in the care of a dragon he trusts who can try to teach him...Ddraig could even suggest Alexander Greywater, as he'd know that he and Gether are on good terms, even if he's not a fan of his vaguely centre-right policies. Gether could then surprise him by suggesting that Ddraig do it instead, and insist that he's the right person for the job when Ddraig protests.

Heh, on another note, it's kind of funny to have Lacia fussing over dresses, when Ddraig's going to be doing the same one day...well, to a certain degree; she's not going to be foolish enough to wear fancy clothing all the time to every location.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ddraigtanto In reply to AMCAlmaron [2015-01-12 01:17:23 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, drat. I'll have to fix that.

I do like your suggestion that Ddraig shouldn't suggest himself.. That's not really the kind of dragon Ddraig is, and you are right: Greywater shares his politics more. I'll make that change too.

And yeah, Lacia is very, very vain.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AMCAlmaron In reply to Ddraigtanto [2015-01-12 01:52:18 +0000 UTC]

Ehh, it's an easy mistake to make...I get lines like that slipping through all the time, and I look back and am baffled as to how I didn't see it!

Cool! Another good way to work Alexander into the earlier stories...and as for Gether, I wonder if he could even note that he's not blind; he has seen how Lacia acts towards Ddraig, and he imagines she'll be horrible towards him once Taxid's in Ddraig's care, but he'll try to keep her otherwise occupied...and he could also hope that spending time with Ddraig will lead to Taxid losing his mother's snobbery and becoming more down to earth?

Yep...but her one (and only) redeeming quality is that she truly loves her family...in that ghost epilogue, it'd be clear; she'd be sad to lose the throne and everything, but Gether would convince her that they're together, and that's all that matters (and besides, as a spirit she can change her appearance and wear glimmering clothes all the time).

AMCAlmaron In reply to Ddraigtanto [2015-01-12 05:28:43 +0000 UTC]

Had a thought for how Taxid's epilogue could go...basically, I was picturing a line written from Taxid's POV which would note that the last thing he ever heard was his mother screaming for him, and then the Golem's hand was upon him and everything went black. Then, in another scene, it'd be revealed that Lacia went mad with grief and attacked the Golem shortly afterwards, leading to her own death (and also mildly redeeming her character, as she made no attempt to flee and let her finery get ruined as she fought). Then, the proper epilogue would have Taxid waking and finding himself in the Chronicler's rooms, and he'd look around in confusion for a bit, trying to figure out how he got here after being hit (he might think he's in a hospital), and then Lacia will appear behind him, and she'll hug him possessively, and then they'll both embrace and try to figure out what's happened to them. This might also be the kindest we'll ever see Lacia...she's genuinely only concerned for Taxid in this scene, and her dialogue would reflect that.

I think so, but you could always have an chapter that covers the fall of the Luciens...or at least Taxid's own POV when he died, as DU's opening will cover the Lucien fall, and then an epilogue that shows what happened to their spirits.

One other thing; you should add a bit more to Gether's rejection of Alexander as a candidate, because at present there's no reason why he couldn't just send Taxid to Holland...well, aside from the fact that Lacia would rage at him. Perhaps you should have him note that he'd prefer to have his son close, either because he imagines Lacia will be difficult, or because he thinks Taxid will only get worse if he thinks he's being sent away.

If you're curious, this is where I've gotten in that so far. Ember And The Black Ring 5: Her Lucky Find......It was such a nice find. A gunmetal coloured ring, with a strange black gem set into its face with slight-handed, elaborate metalwork. Ember stared at the ring, fascinated: Lord only knows how long it had been in that pool, or washing about the sea, because it was filthy, caked in wet sand, saltwater andΒ algae...
"Hey Ember!" Flame called from across the beach. "Mi amigo! Is everything alright over there?!"
"Yeah, I'm fine!" She called back, trotting over with her find in paw. "Check out what I just found." The ring, down to it being soggy and covered in slimy muck, wasn't terribly pleasant for Ember to carry, but she presented it to Flame as she sat next to him, looking over the scene of their creation as the waves lapped at the shore. "I found this ring. Pretty cool, huh?"
Flame looked at it, pulling a face. "Ew, it's all covered in gunk, and it smells awful!"
"Wuss." Ember smirked. "It just needs a clean-up, then it'll be good as new."
He frowned. "Seriously th

If you like...sorry, I can go off on a tangent at times while typing! I just thought it worth noting that Taxid's got a good side, since at present, the only reference for him on Ddraig's page has him depicted as an idiot who's only interested in his own happiness, when we've since decided that there's more to him. It's part of the reason he shows up in that Spirits fic as King...if he'd had the chance, he could have been a good king, or at least an adequate king with a good set of advisors who'd keep the realm going.

Taxid was originally written as a nasty and selfish dragon with several shades of Joffrey mixed in, but now he's been rewritten so that he's less evil and more misguided...he's nasty and selfish at present, but it's linked to family issues; Taxid struggles with his studies, his father's not happy with the way he's turning out, and his mother mollycoddles him...it's a disaster waiting to happen.
