While Luz was growing up the emperor would give her access to all kinds of rare and ancient magical artifacts and spells to be come powerful the he could possibly imagine. The emperor may have been Strict to his subjects but he was a kind and patients but firm to his daughter he would do anything to protect her. And he made sure Luz was ready to take the thrown. When Luz was 17 the emperor was killed by Assassins and she was the new empress. Luz was very sad but she promise to make her father proud and to be a good and honest ruler. She got rid of that messed up coven System that limits people's Magic abilities and re-organize the emperor coven to help and protect her subjects. To put a long story short she is doing a better job then the emperor.
