First panel: *Pepita comes up behind Hector and he feels her chest on the back of his skull* "Uh oh. She's gonna EAT me. I know it."
Suddenly he feels a deep rumbling and realizes she's purring.
Second panel: *turns and touches his forehead to hers* "Ay, Pepita. Muchas gracias for getting us out of that cenote. I owe you one. You're the best!"
Third panel: *Pepita gives him a 'kitty kiss', aka, a lick* "Hey! *laughs* Cut it out! That tickles!" *thinks* I love you too, big girl.

actually, in a removed scene of the film, it is showed that pepita got aggressive at the point of attacking hector and miguel
and hector need to punch pepita's face, wich seems to show that pepita and hector don't have a good interaction

Well, she was trying to take Miguel away from him and back to the family. I think Hector's reaction was pretty justified. That was dangerous!
Also, I love that scene when Pepita first appears. Hector screams like a girl! It's hilarious! And the mock punches to the arms at the end. "Hey, careful. I break easy!"
Such a lovable goofball. I can see how Imelda fell in love with him.
