Quite welcome, I really couldn't resist having a go at it.
There are some skills to be acquired, like drawing "Paths" to define a selection. That's probably not done quite the same way in Photoshop as in GIMP.

indeed. Photoshop is quite different from Gimp. I used to use Gimp but the I got photoshop and I deleted it... although Im thinking I might need the Gimp back

My reasons for favoring GIMP wouldn't necessarily mean anything to you. Photoshop is popular for good reasons. You chose it once before, might as well stick with it.
There's an improvement or successor to GIMP in the works, but no telling when it will come to fruition. But when it does, then I might be able to recommend it without reservations.
