Description
Inspired by the Pokemon According to My Mom meme, I decided to show my mom each of the official arts for the Touhou characters on the Touhou Wiki (except for Daiyousei, Koakuma, and Momiji, where I used fanart that looked like official art) and asked what she thought they were called. No, I don't think she's ever going to remember their actual names.Related content

Every time I see something like this, it always strikes me how weirdly it goes off the rails. I mean, unfamiliarity with the work, trouble remember all those names, I can understand. But consider:
She gets Reimu and Cirno correct, indicating that she's at least heard of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil...and can't even guess at Patchouli or Remilia.
In a world that has Shikieiki Yamaxanadu, Reisen Udongein Inaba, and Toyosatomimi no Miko (not to mention Watatsuki no Toyohime and Watatsuki no Yorihime), she attributes incredibly long Japanese names to the blond violinist and the redheaded big-breasted Grim Reaper.
Getting Wriggle's gender correct, messing up someone else. Look, I know Ringo doesn't have much of a chest, but it's there.
Again...is anyone aware that there are eight Sailor Senshi besides Moon, and Saturn is a far greater resemblance?
But most glaringly...witchy-witch? Really? Witchy-witch??

Sometimes I tell her certain Touhou character names, like Reimu and Cirno, but when I realized I wanted to do this, I refrained from telling her any more names for maximum hilarity.
Eiki Shiki, Yamaxanadu*
She's not familiar with Sailor Moon either. I'm pretty sure she's not familiar with any anime at all, since whenever she sees an anime(-styled) character on my computer, she always wonders if it's a Touhou character.
Yes, sometimes she just gives up. My mom is somewhat senile, give her a break (even though I don't)!

Reimu and Cirno are pretty memorable characters.
Has she listened to any Touhou music? Β Most people likeΒ Stegosaurus Rainbow Girl's theme song. Although, I'm partial to Little Swan Girl's.

"Stegosaurus Rainbow Girl" Sounds like it could be the title of a Touhou game.
Also, a lot of these names look like something the guy who translated Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal would have called them.

So, according to your mom, Touhou is full of Marisas, Mariskas and green haired girls...
That's better than the fandom or Touhou!

Actual Human flesh? I'd guess inchlings taste like lamb too, just more chewy and flavorful.
