Description
I don't know how to code, how does this even work?My most recent Lego MOC is finished! This time is a fully automated level crossing, controlled with an Arduino Uno board!
It took me forever to design and code it, as I know next to nothing about programming. Also first time soldering stuff together!
The image quality is terrible because these pics were taken from a video, which you can view here: twitter.com/Goomuin/status/130…
Basically how it works is that a train triggers the first IR sensor (at the back here), which tells the Arduino to move the servo motors to move and LEDs to flash. When the second sensor gets hit (bottom left), it senses the train is over there, but it only gives a signal to open the crossing once the train has completely passed by that sensor. Sadly enough, I have no idea how to make it do the same thing the other way around...
Everything here has pretty much been built by myself, with many parts and main design coming from Lego set 7936. The servos are from TrixBrix, a small company who makes custom Lego railways and such, parts Lego doesn't make, like broader curves, special switches and all that good stuff.
And now we wait for me to be able to buy a bigger home to install this thing lmao
