„Previously on DBZ What If, Z-Fighters gathered together to stop the Saiyan threat but a pleasent surprise came when Piccolo briefed the Z-Warriors with Gohans strange watch device which allowed him to chnage into 10 different alien forms but it still wasn't enough to save their lives as Yamcha, Chiautzu and Tien perished and Goku was critically injured. Thankfully, after the mention of Piccolo's homeworld Namek and Namekian Dragon Balls there was a plan to go on a cosmic journey to wish their friends back but it won't be easy cause evil space tyrant Frieza is already there and most troublelling of all, he has overheard about the Omnitrix behind the comms and keeps the alien transforming device in back of his head. Gohan confronted his mother about his journey to space and she forbid it but more importantly Chi-Chi, concerned for Gohan's safety and academic pursuits, is initially skeptical about the strange watch device which is permanantly latched onto her childs hand. She worries that Gohan's focus on alien transformations will distract him from his studies and nags about Gohan will miss out on studies in school but with little bit of persuasian she finally gave in and Gohan was finally ready to board a party with Krillin and Bulma, find out what's gonna happen on next exciting episode of DBZ What- If!“

Moving on to plot of this part, before Gohan boards Kami's spaceship with Bulma and Krillin, Bulma asks Gohan to examine the Omnitrix for a quick study, Gohan agrees cause why not and shortly after Bulma unlocks the Master Control for Gohan which allows him to transform into any alien on a whim without a drawback of time-out detransformation. Once that is settled, Gohan has an idea and transforms first into Greymatter to fix the spaceship a little and right afterwards he transforms into Upgrade to, well upgrade the ship to go faster. As they embark on cosmic journey, Krillin teaches Gohan the benefits of Image Training when it hits him, Krillin suggests Gohan should cycle through all 10 of his alien forms in his mind to make their Image Training more interesting and interacive, not to mention Krillin will also gain the same benefits as Piccolo when he trained with Gohans alien forms, well almost. As they journey through depth of outer space, the trio get ensnared into the bigger ship boarded by space oprhans who turn out to be the last batch of Tuffle survivors, this is the second filler episode I'm canonizing in order to expand more on the Omnitrix AND to serve as an obstacle to their faster spaceship cause if they arrive too soon, the canonicity breaks and snowballs out of control. This "episode" called "Taken Hostage" plays out with Tuffle children being totally against a half-saiyan possessing a device made by their forefathers for peace and diplomacy which finally clicks to Gohan and at the end of the day their conflict is resolved by brilliant Gohan. As a sign of graditude, the leader of Tuffle children unlocks a new alien for Gohan which will come in handy later but for now, our trio goes back to their journey to Namek.
