Quentin Crane started out as a boy abused by his demented psychiatrist father who wanted Quentin to follow in his footsteps. Every time Quentin refused to study, his father would lock him in cold and dark rooms until Quentin snapped and did as told. As an adult Quentin became a well-respected psychiatrist, before his past came to haunt him and he started using fear toxin to alleviate phobias. The fear Quentin inflicted on his patients turned on Quentin and he slowly spiraled into insanity, until he was kicked out for abuse. Having enough of sentimental BS, Quentin used his knowledge to come up with a special suit that harnesses fear-toxin but when it wasn't enough to scare people lifeliess, Quentin sold what little he had of his soul to a demon and became Fright-mage, magically powered supervillain with powers of demonic fear-bombs and nightmare casting.
