Description
Couldn't resist putting this photograph in my collection! There's an anual car show at a local museum park and I was so happy I finally got to see one car I've been waiting for years to see.
A 1958 Plymouth Fury in Fire Engine red! Yup, it's the famous car from Stephen King's "Christine" film/book.
AND to top things off, this was one of the very cars used in the film production.
Edit: It's reported only 4 survived! Between 14-19 we're stripped for parts or smashed up during filming.)
Other cars there this year included Starsky & Hutch's Ford and the Dukes of Hazzard Dodge, but they just paled in comparison! *drools*
UPDATE: Had a play around with photoshop and bleached out the colours from the busy background - Makes her shine twice as "bad" now!

Actually, only 3 survived as-was. The fourth one was supposed to be scrapped after filming (the one used in the Moochie chase scene), but someone managed to save it, took surviving parts off the other scrapped cars used in the movie, and put her back together. That particular one did not even had a proper interior initially - it was a full-fledged stunt car with blacked-out windows (except the part of the front that the driver saw out of - heavily tinted), and a racing car-style seat for the stunt driver. It seems likely the one you have here is that very same car I'm talking about here - the other survivors have tinted windows, I believe.
Here's the page with details: [link] (check under the section titled "Christine the Car (by Martin Sanchez)").

Sounds about right. When I spoke to the owner, he'd explained this one was beaten up a bit and needed work to get her back to showroom condition.
If I had the money and time, I'd love to rebuild one from just a hub-cap if I could!

Thank you, I'm grateful you like the picture, she's a fantastic car.
I've uploaded a scan of the original print to my web server, it's roughly 4000x3000pxl and should be perfect to trim and resize as needed.

Just right click and save!
Let me know if there's any problems, thanks.

Christine is an epic thriller, and the only horror film I'll probably ever see XP You've got to be one lucky person to have one of those vintage Plymouth Fury's.

Ooo I want to see the actual car soo bad, but I'll probably never get the chance to! >.<
The chances of it are slim now, I'll probably have to look up where one of the cars would be.
Great editing, it truly does justice to the famous Fury.

Quite correct!!
Belvideres and Savoys were used along with Furys for filming.
23 1958 Plymouths were purchased and customized to look alike although only 16 were used for filming. (The others we're used for parts)
All the Fury's on the production line at the begining of the film were resprayed red for the rest of the movie (Most got smashed to bits!)

Many thanks! I just love the older styled American cars, fins and chrome and huge engines!
Unfortunately I'm stuck in England with tiny European, bubble cars with tiny engines (Anything 1.6 litre or above is a BIG engine!!!) and fuel prices that'd put King Solomon out of business!!!
(Nearly £1 per litre for unleaded!!!)
