Great shot, it has a real classic appeal to it. Very timeless, you can see it was an intense fight. Shooting through the ropes gives a nice perspective too.

great photo, although I do think that Cocosuma was onto something when he spoke about the ropes covering the other guy's face ... it just seems that it would've been an even better photo, but hey action photography isn't at all easy.

It's difficult to think about composition when you loose great photo in the second. And btw ropes on the ring are part of this sport

Woah! Best shot ever. It seem you were in the absolutely perfect position at the most crucial time! Reminds me of Raging Bull which is a really good thing, the fight scenes in that movie are intense. Love the B+W. Love the angle, the border, and the lighting (obviously already there). Good work. This really did deserve to be a Daily Deviation.

I very much like this shot, as it reall conveys the moment, which I think is really the goal of all photography.
However, I do agree with whoever said the ropes are intrusive, they definately appear that way to me too. The only other thing I would do to this photo is make the lights a little brighter. It would definately contribute to the mood.
But as was said, art is 100% opinion.
