This image was done for the cgchannel "lord of the rings" September, 2010 matte painting challengeThis image was specifically setup for a projection-mapped camera move. (where the image is projected onto geometry in 3d space to accommodate a moving camera)
In the movie clip, the top left of this image is not visible, which is why i didn't waste time adding detail in this piece.

Great artwork!
On the left the 1000 metres tall tower Barad-Dur, the fortress of Sauron, the Stalin of Middle-Earth! And on the right in the background the gigantic Mount Doom!

This is incredible! The attention to detail is extremely impressive, and the video appears even better than the still image. You should be so proud of what you have accomplished here; it looks as though it could have been plucked right out of the movies.

Oh my gosh wow this is amazing....and i felt like a total nerd when i saw the title of the deviation on the thumbnail and was just like-Sauron! Lord of the Rings! Mordor! AHHHH epic!!!!

Thanks! no pandora challenge for me this month. I got a heap of freelance work that will last me through mid January, plus my full-time job. Been in "work only" mode for about a month now. Back to challenges soon though.
