Looks like you're on roll with these characters.
On the weapons thing in your description, whenever you fought a standard soldier in-game like in the intro, the cannon fodder enemies had these weapons attached to their arms.

I'm not sure what the weapon names are, but if I were to guess, the weapons were probably the standard machine gun, the sub-machine gun, and the occasional shotgun and rocket launcher from some of the fodder enemies. The Enforcer did have some sort of machine gun, but the names of the weapons elude me.
