One thing still quite intriguing me, is if Godzillas really live down there in the sea for millions of years, why they still have their legs?

They possibly were not completely sea bound and came on land quite frequently to defend their territoryΒ

That's true. And beside imagine if there is a "mermaid Godzilla", that would be awkward

The multitude of enormous predators from the time adapted to be Amphibious so that they could survive underwater, to feed off of radiation sources near the bottom of the sea.
According to the canon of Gareth's movie, THIS particular Godzilla is a survivor that is literally millions of years old. So literally speaking, this individual wouldn't adapt at all. Adaptation cannot happen on an individual scale; it has to happen over the course of several generations and eventually one generation inherits a genetic trait that gives them advantage over the previous generation.

Hmmm..Lamarck's, right? And are you saying that this particular invidual forcefully adapted to amphibious life while the other gone extinct?

No; I'm saying that this individual was born of a population that had already adapted to amphibious life, but because he survived where his other race has Gone extinct...he's pretty much going to stay that way.

You know it's theorized that, realistically speaking, this is the only environment 2014 Goji can survive in due to his weight and gravity?

it is possible for godzilla 2014 to stay on land and survive but the world has changed a lot and this one seems to have a mostly amphibious nature unlike the semi amphibious nature of the past godzillasaur speciesΒ

I am several years in replying to this but he means that due to his massive weight, gravity on land would be so intense on him that his legs would break and his organs would likely collapse.Β
