I am absolutely speechless. I think this is your most sublime work ever. Your interpretation of LOTR, and esp this, the Silmarillion era, is the best bar none.

Very nice art, well done. I must comment though, on a few things that would really only matter to an obsessive fan such as myself.
For one thing, I'm reasonably certain the elves didn't awaken until the second age, although I'd need to check my material on that.
Second thing is that in the first age they were using stuff more along the lines of railguns and spacecraft. Sounds ridiculous yes, but how else would you interpret a "mithril and elven-glass" that travels the skies and the "Outer Void"-aka space. Or Morgoth's attack on Gondolin by crossing mountains in great metal machines with fire in their bellies, or APCs? Or the Numenorean fleets that attacked Valinor which were armed with "darts that could travel across an ocean." The entire history of middle-earth is technology being lost.
Try not to picture me as angrily ranting. Picture it more as staring off into space while going on and on about how great Tolkein's writings were. Feel free to back away slowly if need be...that's what most people do when I get on the subject.

the Elves awoke before the first age. Β the first age started with the first rising of the moon and sun and with the awakening of Men. Β the second age began with the fall of Morgoth. Β

Thanks,
I didn't write the story! The writers at Turbine did, you can take it up with them

But that would mean taking time away from deed grinding. Need to kill another 200 orcs, then drakes, then goblins..

Oh wait, nevermind. It was the dwarves who were not awake yet. Right, right. Go ahead and ignore my first thing.

Maybe the most hates NPC in the whole game - shes talking for hours, make a big scene about her age and than - she just die from a single hit of big bad daddy Balrog - entcounter failed please try again later...

She's absolutely gorgous! Youthful and yet ancient.
I also love her armour.
I'm betting that she a Falathrim (Sea Elf), I haven't seen to many pics of them.

she is beautifull, very statuesque, and she definitely looks ancient.
her face is simply awsome, her eyes are so deep and vibrant, and her skin is beautifuly porcelaine. her expression is also really hard to place, it's confident, dreamy, knowledgable and almost alien. really really interesting, and of course, strangely and coldy beautiful. also, that hair is wonderfully ethereal and a perfect, classic finishing touch! the whole effect is almost ghostly, especially with the white flames glowing behind the figure. all in all, every part of her looks monolithic and untouchable.
but obviousely, the star of this picture is that costume! it's absolutetly brilliant! that armor is so beautiful, the aquatic influences are subtle enough not to be overpowering, and the idea of something so primal and eternal as the sea really carries well with the idea of an eternal elf. those breastplates really do look like seafoam creasting over her shoulders, and the thigh-guards seem like a waterfall splashing down her sides. i especially love the under-skirts, they're almost floral, especially with their petal shaped ends and those faint curling patterns. and of course, that floral theme suits elven characters perfectly.
i truly adore this artwork, i simply cannot find fault with any part of it. i am very envious of you skills, and i hope one day to be as good as you. keep up the brilliant work.
...
oh yeah. fav!

I like very much the design of the gown in this concept, You have a great talent, I like much the form in which you give color to your work, continue doing(painting). This world needs more of your art. This painting is really fabulous. I consider you to be a great artist. Your art is really inspiring.

Haha, that's right she's outside the balrog room or something ya? I heard the biggest question players ask is "why is she wearing sandals?"

yep. shes outside the room and fight him with you after the everseer. she does so much damage its hard for a guardian to pull him off her.

Sorry for the double-comment but...
so this means there will be Silmarillion material in LOTRO!? I'm trying to think where you'd find an elf from the First Age in Third Age Middle Earth/LOTRO.

Gorrem In reply to orgo [2007-11-14 02:19:35 +0000 UTC]
Thanks!
Actually no, we can't use stuff from the Silmarils cuz it isn't owned by Tolkien enterprises (It's owned by Tolkien's son and he ain't sharing ), but the 1st Age has been mentioned in the trilogy so we can use it.
As for where she is, you'll have to play the game to find her!

You work for Turbine? thats awesome, must be a nice job with your talent
I've been a tolkien fan all my life, I just want to say how appreciative I am of how well you've stuck to continuity in Tolkien's work, were there a position as a lore-keeper I would love that lol.
Keep up the good work, may the light of the valar shine upon you.
