Description

The moment she entered the hall, Veidja knew she was dreaming.

The room itself looked just as she knew it all too well: Black stone walls; lanterns and lava rivulets that spread flickering light; the heavy ironwood chair that served as a sort of throne for N'Arahn in his fortress.

Indeed, even the sight of the demonlord in his formal attire was no longer entirely unfamiliar to her, even if he was still mostly confined to his reinforced leather skirt. N'Arahn was waiting for her, leaning slightly against the high chair. His face was still in shadow; she didn't know what to expect.

But the tugging at her back, the wonderful weight of her strong wings was a clear sign that this could not be reality. A brief smile twitched across the angel's face as she spread them out, savoring the familiar and missed feeling, then the smile slipped away. Worry spread through her like freezing water.

Such clear dreams were rare and they always had a meaning.

She had crossed the hall, each step slower than the one before.

N'Arahn straightened, shifting his weight and refolding his own wings. She could see his face now, and the expression on it, so different from the usual teasing arrogance or anger that always simmered within him.

Veidja saw her own worry, her own reticence, perhaps even insecurity mirrored. But there was more. A fire, a consuming longing that made the demon's eyes glow. This was the realm of dreams. The realm of souls. Did she see a hidden side? Or just the imaginary glimmer of hope she so desperately needed?

Even before the demonlord raised his hand, Veidja knew what it was all about. Of course. His offer. Her choice. The possibility of the lesser of two evils. What could she trust?

Again her eyes sought his steady, burning gaze.

What should she do?

The prize itself was just a full body in this style, but Esidh wanted to know if she could add a second character and a background as a commission, and I loved the idea so much, so of course I obliged
And I was correct, I loved drawing all of this xD Veidja and N'Arahn are just such fun characters to draw (especially when I get to draw their wings) and I love playing with some good dark lighting :3
