Apart from the fact the very existence of this achievement screws up one of the main plot points of the game; if crystals are so goddamn easy to come across (hell, you can come across 400 or so if you really look around some of the levels), why would Lilac and Carol even need to steal? They could go for a walk and get enough to feed themselves for the week. Unless the economy collapsed in the same way the Mushroom Kingdom's did and Sonic's own Ring-based one seems to have.
