Description Gender (over on livejournal) suggested I make a tutorial for how to make some of my textures. Which sounds like a great idea, until I realize I didn't save any of the psp files that would show me the layer palette. Of course, that would only go so far to helping, since I only vaguely think tutorials would be nice at about the half-way mark after I've merged the image about a thousand times.

So, a tutorial on making your own textures similar to mine will have to wait a little bit, because that takes time. I don't just find a picture and crop it to little 100x100 squares for your enjoyment.

However, I had an extra stop-motion photo left over from making my splatter brushes, so I figured I'd write a tutorial of that from scratch. Mostly because I can still remember the steps, and everyone seems to like splatter brushes. Besides, with the horror genre still pumping out movies and the next Disney Pirates on the horizon, the need for blood should continue.

This was written using my experience in Paint Shop Pro version 7. However, I'm pretty sure the steps easily transfer to Photoshop.

Why so rude? Don't like? Don't use.

It's a universal file extension. Not everyone is using a program for .doc files.

You've been so rude, I have no desire to look over any tutorial you've made, and I'm hiding your comment because I don't want to give you any eyeballs from this page.

Think twice, speak once, and remember to have some manners. You'll get farther with people.

I have an odd question I guess... umm Did you take the picture? If not are there like copyright violations or anything...and can I use the picture with out giving refrence.. I mean I will give refrence to your tutorial if I use it...or If I find a random picture off the internet can I just use it to make brushes and not give credit O_o? lol I'm just kinda wondering how that works...or If I'm going to have to make my own water droppys..
lol sorry for the odd question!

The picture was a still from a stop motion film. I don't care about credit for the tutorial. However, as I've used the picture in the tutorial and as part of a brush set, it would probably be best if you found something different to use. Otherwise you'll be making a brush set exactly like the one I've already offered.

Great tut! Love the way it ends up, and hey, as long as you got the .png saved, or a few of them, you really dun need them as a brush, right? nice job

One little thing tho... having it as a .txt makes the text go faaar out on the side, forcing the reader to sidescroll. Try to keep it on a single screen... can be done with the [enter] key, or by saving it as a .doc (word document). Otherwise it's a great tutorial!

its not his fault its yours... don't mean to sound rude, but notepad/ other names for it are the basic things comps have in common, i have Works, no owrds which means i can't view i get those lovely boxes and crap...-.- but to see the text like you would on word, or works you go to the menu called format should be something called word wrap, click it and it will make it less of a scrolling over.

Hey, thanks! I didn't know that! thanks for pointing it out.. and I guess I'm a bit spoiled with MS words on my comp, making me able ot viev .docs, simply thought most others had it as well. And the more I think of it, the resolution can be totally different, from comp to comp, making a .txt where you adjusted the lines to fit yur screen just as annoying to read from another computer.. please, forgive my stupidity
