Me and ~budmedia showed up to one of the parks in our town after getting school called off that day for school. We saw this sky... and how the sun reflected over the water... and we were running as fast as we could to get there and take pics. It was the most breathtaking sky i've ever seen. This is absolutely beautiful! A real one-in-a-million capture. Where was this photo taken?
The lighting is brilliant (although, I can't exactly give the credit to you). The over-exposed top half balances so perfectly with the dark lower half. The pattern around the clouds look aweome, as does the texture that engulfs the sea, created by the sunlight itself.
Composition is great. The framing that you used works very well in controlling the viewers eye. The visual progression from top to bottom just goes from excellent to amazing.
The thing that I love most about this shot, though, is the little patch of sunlight that shines down through onto the water, as if a signal from above was being written on the water. It adds a new dimension to the image; a contemplative inner meaning, if you will.

The rays and the sun spot on the water are fabulous! But I agree with another comment: why not try and cut the lower half of the pic? The beach kind of distracts me from the sun-water relation. Let the sunspot on the water be the focus! Incredible mood, incredible clouds!
