I don't think "liberalism hates me" is really appropriate... I'm pro-choice myself but anti-abortion, if that makes sense at all, and I've never met anyone who was pro-abortion.

I don't like the idea of terminating a fetus, but I think that when it comes down to it the rights of the mother supersede the rights of the fetus. I don't think it should be a form of birth control, but I think there are too many different circumstances that could justify an abortion, which I can go deeper into if you want... Also, having dealt with feeling wrong in my own body, I imagine having an unwanted fetus--almost a separate creature, functionally a parasite, in my body, consuming my nutrients, "living" inside me without my consent--would be orders of magnitude worse, and I would never wish that on anyone. Never in a hundred thousand years, never even under all the tortures invented, I would never wish that feeling on anyone.

So long story short, I think a woman has the right to decide what happens inside her own body, as long as it is within her own body, because for me the alternative is too horrifying to consider.

well, the alternative being too horrifying to consider does not necessarily negate the truth. I mean, it is true that all human beings are persons, but some people take racial identity and religious identity as reasons to negate personhood.
I am anti-abortion because I believe all human beings have the right to life, and the right to life supersedes all other rights.
Also, anything can be "justified". That doesn't mean every choice is right. Women absolutely have the right to choose what we do with our bodies. We choose who we sleep with, when we sleep with them, how, and why. We choose what we wear, what we say, and how we present ourselves. If other people hurt us for those things, that is not our fault but the fault of the person who hurts someone else.
However, no one has the right to choose to kill someone. To choose who lives or dies is not a choice I believe people have the right to make.

Race and religion are no reasons to kill. That's a given. No personal characteristic is reason to kill.

I was referring more to circumstances where it was less of a choice. Would you force a woman to bear the child of a rapist? What if the woman was physically incapable of giving birth to or caring for the child? Would you choose the child over the mother? What if the mother was mentally unstable? Would you subject the child to abuse and possible death, if the instability tended that way? Would you subject the mother to depression or schizophrenia, if that was the way the instability took effect? What if the mother was socially or economically incapable of raising the child? Again, would you subject both the mother and child to lives of poverty and neglect? Caring for offspring requires a great deal of a woman's time, even if she has a partner/s with whom to share the effort, and if she has to care for a child a woman may lose the chance to escape poverty.

So, long story short, I think there are circumstances in which abortion is right. I think they are extremely few and far between; I personally would never choose abortion unless it was medically necessary, and I hope I never have to make that choice--but it is important to me that I have the option, even if I never use it.

It's easy to say that everything is a choice, but it's much harder to apply that to real life. Accidents do happen; birth control isn't always available and it's not one hundred percent reliable. There's also the matter of rape, and simple lack of knowledge. I'm not talking about poor education; a woman may not realize that she cannot biologically support a fetus until she is already pregnant.

I'm not pro-abortion by any means. I'm definitely anti-abortion, but I believe that a woman has the right to choose what happens in her own body for as long as the fetus is a part of her and not a separate thinking entity. Consciousness is a very fuzzy area of study, but fetuses are certainly not conscious for the period of pregnancy during which abortions are legal in the US.

wow. okay. I don't know how or where I invited you to come throw your thoughts at me...
I mean, by all means have them, I just don't know why you're telling me how you believe.
Do you want me to tell you you're wrong? Okay. you're wrong. There. Meh. What's that going to do? nothing? oh. Okay. Going to go move on with my life now.

Ah. Sorry. That isn't how I meant to come off... it seemed to be heading into ideological debate territory and I kind of slipped into ramble mode. Sorry if I sounded preachy; ideology is something I tend to go on about if there's no one to stop me. It's a bad habit.

Was I really? ._. I didn't mean to shove my beliefs at you; I usually try to go out of my way to avoid doing so...

I mean, I'm glad you gave your input, but I just... don't really know what the point was I guess. *shrug*
