MatPat has stated it was only a theory, and that theory hasn't been confirmed upon by Valve MatPat. Matpat never even provided an example of how science has 'proved' that homosexuality and schizophrenia are connected, and why not? If Science has proved it, (and there is evidence, but not of the way MatPat is describing it), why wasn't at least 1 example included in the video? The answer is that, while there is some evidence, it isn't solid enough. As for stating the connection between homosexuality and schizophrenia - well, in one way it is, and in another it isn't. Homosexuality does have a connection the paranoid schizophrenia. However, Pyro does not suffer from paranoid schizophrenia, as paranoid schizophrenia only causes auditory hallucinations (hearing voices), not visual ones. Visual hallucinations can only occur within 'mainstream' schizophrenia. The symptoms Pyro does suffer from that are in paranoid schizophrenia are the ones shared in mainstream schizo, such as the delusions of his actions(Giving the 'babies' 'candy' and spreading love and fun with the Rainblower, Pyro doesn't realize he is really committing violent actions, more than just having fun with his 'friends', which is the entire world). Pyro does not show anxiety or extreme anger, nor does Pyro display Suicidal behaviors. He is not emotionally distant, and seems very happy constantly in his 'reality'. Some mainstream schizo symptoms missing from Pyro is social withdrawal and lack of emotion; Pyro seems to be good friends with the Engineer, and, as mentioned before, is a typically happy or excited person.
