Errr...I somehow missed the "upgraded" part of your prev reply. Another question (sorry about that ): is Poser completely superior to DS as far as user friendliness/experience goes ? It looks so clean and organized compared to DS.

The big dif. for most is DS is free except for the Pro studio.
As for Poser Pro - $$$ also free trial period.
So Try Both! See what you like.
Both have there strong points.
Like DS rendering engine is stronger than Posers FireFly,
After market Engines are available for both. $
I use poser because I like the interface, but I Curse it for being unstable, and
God help you ,if your runtime file get's corrupted and you don't have a back up!

Thanks for the reply! I have used DS before, never used Poser (only seen in videos). What runtime file are you referring to and what do you mean ?

Runtime in Poser is the main storage and file system that holds all your Stuff-Characters,Hair, Morphs, etc.
The more stuff you load into poser, zip, rar,; The bigger your runtime file gets.
For loading stuff the hard way{which is most of the time} runtime sub folders like -Geometries-you load objects, ojb.
then Libraries- more sub folders, Then Textures.
If you don't like opening up program files in the root directory Poser will not be your friend!

Initially the way you described the tuntime it sounded like some file, but your last reply indicates that it's a a root folder for all the assets. DS has a runtime root folder too for poser compatibility (to a certain extent).
Anyway, the number one cause that put me off DS was the malfuctioning posing capabilities, or more precisely the pinning/constraints. Last version I used was 4.6, so I don't know if they have fixed it. But the problem has existed for years. Check below links:
www.youtube.com/results?search…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgUg-T…
Last link (video) by same user that made several videos on the subject, highlights the problem more by comparing to another app side-by-side. It's amazingly strange that a malfunctioning posing feature isn't fixed...over the years !!! It's not like this app is a multi-purpose app for content creation (modeling, sculpting, etc). It's a pose/animation app, and they fail to fix that posing problem for years

I see said the blind man!
Can't say I've had a pinning problem like that
with poser. A check box for Inverse kinetics for each arm and leg,
takes care of that.
My Problem is when I'm almost finished, and the program crashes and I loose everything!
I'm older and wiser now, so I take precautions and do saves and backups frequently.
