The background is good. First, you might think that it would be quite silly and cute, but after few seconds you get to the point. The colour of the background distracts you for a while and it's a good thing here, as it adds a new meaning to the whole image. Pleu maybe is small and rather cute little fellow, but he's also confused etc.
It's very simple, but smart. Its cuteness is not interfering with some deeper thoughts about perceiving reality. A small hump on the path of life can be a mighty mountain for such an individual.
