From left: Matt (the smug security guard), Nathaniel (successful businessman/ benevolent philanthropist), Wendell (the 'good' doctor), Alexandra (daddy's little princess)I wanted to depict Matt a bit more than just being Kylie's punching bag and a doormat in Winter Nights.
He is one of Nathaniel's trusted associates despite him being disrespectful towards others.Β Alexandra is kind of a spoiled rich girl who is protected by Nathaniel. Though she dislikes how her father is being more overprotective than usual. He is wary of the young lad she has met recently. She is his only child. His only princess.
Nathaniel was an avid chess player, who had participated in every competition. He never lost a single match. He views life like a chess game. He is cautious and thoughtful. Always want to be a victor. But to make his daughter happy, he doesn't really have much of a choice. He reluctantly accepts his daughter's decision and admits Wendell is the best man for her.Β

They are leaving Nathaniel's mansion in this picture. The couple is going somewhere together. Nathaniel is off to work. The security guard, well, he stays at the mansion.

Hahah you're right. He probably should wear a beanie. His smooth, clean-shaved head might feel cold.Β Β I wanted to show each character different facial expressions. Alexandra's father has that no-nonsense attitude. XDΒ

Naturally bald sounds strange, like he has an illness or something. I did make him a bald kid, though. Maybe I could say that he likes to keep himself very clean, or he looks better clean-shaved.Β Β Β

The perfect widescreen moment.
Nathaniel's over protectiveness of his daughter from a man who he knows little about. Wendell feels like an outsider to a world his lover had grown up in. Recalling nights of how he called her a "spoiled princess" during their nights beyond just pillow talk. Alexandra knows the tension between her father and Wendell. One hope of their relationship is if they both get along. If not. Then at least respectful. Matt only watches. Ready to spread some jokes about the whole situations. Which will unfortunately turn into rumors. Whether true or not.Β
Only one question remains. If Nathenial refuses Wendell to a game of chess. Will Wendell tuck in his arms, moving his head back and fourth, as he says, in the most refined way, "bak bak." Like that of a chicken.

Nathaniel is just being a nice, caring father who has to take care of his daughter. I wonder if he has a son, would he still favour his daughter more?Β Β Parents seem to be protective of their daughter more than son but I could be wrong. Matt is being Matt. He doesn't think any consequence of his actions. The kind of guy who enjoys the moment.Β Β
Nathaniel has to find a subtle way to know the young lad better. Play the game of chess with his mind. He can't always win when he wants his daughter to be happy.Β

He'd probably still favors his daughter. Since his wife died. I mean sure, there's the maid. Yet I doubt he'd treat her with loving care. I wouldn't be surprised if Kylie decided to throw him down in front of the door. Then scraps the mud off her boots on top of him. It's not first or second base. But it's close to what he'll have. XDΒ
Maybe Nathaniel could discuss something related to Canadian history. Perhaps giving Wendell the tale of how he watched Nanook, of the Inuit tribe that managed to survive in this icy tundra? Maybe a beer? Three drinks. One of them is normal, while the other two have a drug. And, most importantly, Nathaniel tells Wendell to keep the snake caged, when he and Alexandra come over. For... Obvious reasons.

Matt likes bad-mouthing anyone. He will spread rumours about his boss having an affair with the maid as well. He needs to be taught a lesson. Kylie is the right person to teach him. XD
Nathaniel puts the drug into the beer? That's a subtle way to say "hey, I don't like you but please treat my daughter like a princess." Keep the snake caged, huh? Funny, I am currently working on this piece.Β
Β She is wearing the sexy dress that is impossible for any men not to look at her chest. That makes her father worried so much. XDΒ

"The weaker they are the louder they howl!" That will eventually be Matt's downfall. Where he'll never back up the words in front of others. Especially those who ask the real questions. So if Kylie wanted to teach Matt a lesson. What kind of lesson would she teach Arthur, when she finds out about her sister?
Ohh⦠What if Nathaniel accidently put a Viagra into Wendell's drink, instead. Testing him to keep his promise to keep the snake caged? It sounds odd in everyway. But you never know. Plus, and this is the best part, he never told Alexandra to keep it in his pants. So... Loophole.
