Uuu, just finished this in time to run down to dad's office before the rain came. From left to right, Shinrei and Hotaru from Samurai Deeper Kyo. My favourite sibling pair (not couple XP) from the series <33333 Volume 28 was pure love!
HAHAHAHAHA BAD INKING.
*Cough* Shinrei uses water attacks and has twin blade-thingy as weapons, one which i deliberately left out XD Hotaru uses fire and a typical samurai sword, which i had trouble drawing -_- That explains the colours. Which BTW has been fucked up even more by the scanner. Didn't bother to follow the actual colour scheme from the anime since i'm using toning anyway. Considered doing Hotaru in FiredUp!Mode (whatever you call it, when he has red symbols all over his body) but decided he isn't showing enough skin
Hopefully AllBlue!Shinrei doesn't look too... sickly. I have discovered i CANNOT do fire. Lost count of how many layers i put on the flames x_x And even with reference, the water still looks rather fake... *weeps*
Tools: 0.1 ink pen, colour pencils, PhotoShop7 for colour burn. It hurts to know that my drawings look better before they're coloured >_> (Click for lineart)

I think you're selling yourself a little short here darlin'! The fire looks great, and so does the water. I especially like the little merge-y bit going on behind Shinrei's head. I love the full colour schemes, that actually work surprisingly well with their legit colours. Blue!Shinrei doesn't look sick, but he does look very pretty.

This is cool! Shinrei and Hotaru are both so friggin' hot... Though I'm more of a Shinrei fan. In Artist's Comments you mentioned volume 28. Is the series honestly that long? Oh my god, I'm so going to die waiting, haven't they translated only like 18 of them?

I'm following the Chinese translations, and that was quite a while ago. It probably ended by now, thought i have no idea at what volume. The story is pretty long and draggy =_=

I forgot how long it took, but i usually spend 4-6 hours on a piece like this. I used Lunar colour pencils for this, but you can't really tell because i edited the colours a lot >_>;;

You just gotta love these half brothers don't you? Ah, i love the piccy, it's b e a u tiful. You should draw more fan fics like this one. ^^ By the way i think the colouring is nice, but one thing: I think Hotarus sword's kind of wrong drawn, because I think it's supposed to be a knife looking edge on the way back of the hilt.
Or something like that (I suck at english.) Ah well, i love it anyways.

Oh, you mean the sharp edge should be on the other side? That might just be right because i didn't pay attention to the sword apart from the hilt and drew the sharp edge on that side because it'd make sense when you want to cut people and stuff >_> But thanks for the tip! i'll take note of it next time i draw Hotaru's sword. Uuuuuu i do need to draw more Samurai Deeper Kyo fanart...

Oh man I love how you coloured the water around Shinrei with colour pencils~ *_* The fire around Hotaru looks rather rough though, but imho red colour pencils are harder to blend than blue? That's what I feel anyway XP I really like the very obvious contrast in the pic!

Thank you~~~~ I had absolutely NO idea about the water, so i refered to some CLAMP illus. I cheat XDXD But the water's the one thing i like more in the original, because the colour burn has made it too striking. Yeeeesh, red tones are so much tougher to blend >_< They just don't mix easily! The colour burn pretty much wiped out all the yellow and orange tho. Now it just looks like a blanket of red...

oooo on over view ... u does brough out the water vs fire effect ... act ... the water effect was't too bad ... just some part is a bit not too good at tho ... and as for the flame ... well using a color pencil... it was hard ... anyway nice work!!!

Arigatou~~~~~ If i show you the ori you'll say the colors are very dull... i never planned to edit with PS, but after playing around i noticed that colour burn-ing it makes the colors so much more vibrant o_o
Need more practise on trad media.... i'm sure if i used water colours the fire would look much better >.>

Heheh, the unedited colouring is quite dull because i hate to strain my hand with colour pencils x__x Gawd knows why one of the most commonly used media is the hardest to control...
