If there's a series that's far too advanced for it's era, it's Discovery. Star Trek is not OUR future. It is A Future. Don't modernize a PREQUEL to fit current times. This is why Picard's really advanced screens don't bother me. Because it's the FUTURE of Trek. Not it's PAST.

I'm even less of a fan of the Discoverprise than the Kelvinprise. At least Kelvinprise has an excuse of being in an alternate universe. It's not a good excuse, but it's one that I can ignore. Discoverprise has NONE. As a prequel to the show in the 1960s, it should LOOK like it. You can say that the buttons wouldn't work all you want. But Enterprise, you know that show that was lambasted for being too advanced for it's era? Discovery makes that look like a perfect prequel. Side note, I didn't much like the description of the pre-TOS era in TOS anyway, so I give Enterprise a pass.

Very nice. It still has the classic shape, but the bits and bobbles everywhere help modernize it enough without making it tacky.
