Description
Helga Goebbels, one of the last victims of WW2. She was killed by her parents to save her from being captured by the Russians in the last days of the Nazis. Her younger brother and four younger sisters died with her. There is no monument to them for fear of offending desendents of victims of the Holocaust. I find this very sad and it makes me depressed to be human.Many thanks to for the b&w. My apologies for the crappy colouring.

Do you happen to have the black and white?? This photo of Helga reminds me of the 1906 photo of Tatiana Nikolaevna, the one where she is looking over her shoulder and standing by a chair.

You did a great job on that picture. When I think about Helga and her siblings it makes me sad ;( They didn't deserve to die and they deserved justice.

Children should never suffer from their parents' faults. Thing is that, these children were too young to support such a ideology, neither did they choose for it. It's sad if people mark them nazi's, cause I don't believe they were. Also I found it wrong that the parents killed them. Yes, it's somehow understandable, but their sin became even bigger while killing their own children. I don't think that the Russians would have tortured them or put them in a labour camp, since even Traudl Junge ( Hitler's youngest secretary ) was freed, her work marked as a '' youthful prank '' even though she was like 25... So I guess they would have done atleast the same to children, or something better. Well, we will never know... But the faith of the Goebbels children was too cruel.. Good work either way

Yes, it was unfair that the children had to suffer for their parents sins. However, who know what was going on in Josef and Magda's minds that fearful night? They knew that their lives were up and maybe they wanted to keep the family together? As you say, we'll never know. Maybe the kids would have gone free, which is what makes it so sad

Yes fearful it must have been for them, for sure. However I least pity Goebbels and don't really pity Magda either. My only pity goes to their kids, really. But you're welcome, good job for paying tribute to the kids, who were innocent.
