Vodcast Drawings #1
Greetings, everyone! Today I bring you two little drawings that were made for PentaMafia's podcast series, Vodkast (should be obvious where the name came from heh). These were drawn for the first two episodes so people would have something to see while hearing the podcast.
I imposed me a rule for these drawings to not take more than 10 minutes in a single one. I decided this for three reasons: to begin the editing as soon as possible (since podcasts shouldn't take too long to publish), to give Vodkasts an original style and to practice drawing recognizable characters using as little details as possible.
If you haven't guessed already the characters that means I didn't do a good job, jk, they're the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who and Elastigirl from The Incredibles!
The Doctor was made for the first Vodkast, titled "Let's Talk About Doctor Who (seasons 1-4)". We intented for it to last about 20 minutes but ended up being 50 minutes long haha, about 10 minutes of the discussion was about how none liked Martha. Was going to include the Ninth Doctor into the frame but he didn't fit and I had to give him too many details for him to be recognizable.
Elastigirl was made for the second one, titled "Sexualization of Characters in Media". Now, you may be wondering why is Elastigirl in the cover, well, that's because there was a segment where we talked about how the second and third time we watched Incredibles II in theaters we noticed Elastigirl lower body was quite often the focus of the camera and we talked about what was the intention of the animators, we eventually concluded that it was a deliberate choice to please the grown up audience of the sequel aimed for and to make Elastigirl look young and not be just the mother of Dash and Violet. Hence why I choose to base my drawing in the credits for the movie, since they also emphasize her lower parts.
So that's it for now, hope you enjoy these and I'll see you later as I post my finished short Bee and Puppycat animation! Hope that goes well since it's my first time animating a character.
