Description
Twenty-fifth page of Crestbraid!
Time for some action!
Explanation: I realize that what's happening toward the end with he Dryad might be a little confusing to the reader. The thing is that she's using a power that I was supposed to introduce earlier when they first met her, but that I had to take out because of insufficient space. Basically, it's the capacity of a Drayd to teleport herself from one tree to another tree nearby (a spell called "Tree stride" in the universe of D&D).
The image below does depict this, although not providing enough explanation to really understand it.

The insects should keep it busy for a short while. Was that the Gargoyle Hound? That's an old figure. Maybe just looks a bit like it.

Not quite, it's the Warhound .

Oh. That one looks old too but probably not nearly as old. Is that what the dryad summoned? That would be good to keep the dragon busy long enough to get away.

The dryad just summoned a wood spirit that she uses as mount but this time it got roasted right away!
The hound is the watch dog that was freed by Yveray in the previous page. I guess it started to feel protective toward the girl who befriended him a few minutes earlier.

Hmm - beautifully done. Is the dragon not satisfied with the quality of its "virgin" sacrifice?

Astute way to improvise against a dragon without weapon. But I notice the dragon telling "A lie" after sniffing the paladin and then turning his attention to Yvy. Something to be cleared later, I hope ?

My advise: try to keep this question in the back of your head until next page. It might get an answer then...

I am not likely to forget. Till next page then.

They should thank the dryad... and the dog for this.

Yeah, thanks to them, the story can go on!

Very nicely done. I love those renders. And it seems the adventure just got a whole lot bigger and 'hotter' then our heros ever anticipated.

That's a quest they risk to get burned on it!

Thx for the explanation, but even without knowing the background of D&D, I expect some in that way.
I also like that our group have not defeated the dragon, because such a creature, should be high above their momentary skills.
Run away is the best option at this point.
Ok, this will cause many new problems to the village nearby, but I think our heros will find a clever solution for that...or fast horses^^

Getting rid of the dragon in a single page would have been a shame! What can I say? Put your seat belt on, there is so much more to come!
