The limitations are difficult to work with but I will persevere.

I like the colours and shapes---only problem is 7 layers when we agreed 6 at most.
But slide top layer down and left a bit and then no need for Spot mask.
rules too limiting? Maybe more layers, like 8, or not enough variety in coloring algs?

Oh dear. I had 7 in mind for some reason. I tried moving the top mask around but then I get a bit on the right that I don't want. I could zoom it slightly bigger. It's trial and era with rules though we can open up the colouring if you want as I noticed Gerda was having problems finding something nice (see journal comments). I'll take that layer out. I need to take something out of my next one now
footnote: What I've done is to take out the mask and post the new parms but with the same image. Works for me

Thanks Maureen; sorry to be turning into such a contest-nazi but you know; rules is rules.
It looks like we may have to lift the restriction on Coloring for Gerda and others who
won't enter this contest because of the restriction;
I'm personally opposed to this, as the whole idea behind limiting to the two was to enable
entrants to discover natural structures within the formula itself (by zooming, and deep
exploration of parameters). If we allow any and all colorings we could be
in danger of the coloring and not the formula being featured.
I'm also wondering why entries are being accepted immediately instead of being held
for review as is normally done for Challenges of this type.
If only I'd remembered my DA password before I left on vacation, we'd have had more
time to hash these issues out. :\

Hi Ed - Just noticed this comment and I wondered about checking the parms. Can you do that for all of them please and could you come in on the comments section on the Home Page under the challenge. Belatedly re Gerda and any others having problems and changing the OCA/ICA I am glad we left it with these restrictions.

Sure, Maureen. I'll double-check them. Not sure what you mean by coming in on the home Page. Did you mean leave a comment?

On the front page of Double Ducks there are one or two questions that I have done my best to answer but would you mind quickly reading through and adding any thoughts.

I have done.
I tried my best to clarify some of what you were saying...and hope I haven't made things muddier.
