That's a face I'd like to meet for the look behind the eyes alone. You could make up a whole story for it. There's always some lovely depth in the relatable normalcy of images. A piece much better than something touched-up, IMO. It's just raw power, and the rawness is complimentary. Not a photographer though, so I don't any have constructive feedback to give, other than great shot

Oh! Honestly, I didn't know this was a self-portrait until I looked at the rest of the gallery! But hey, do tell if it's tellable!
Yeah, I think many photographers don't. No hate to it; I just have even more appreciation for something that's not giving me "artificial perfection" in a person's photo. Invincible untouchable's are cool; but real people and real objects are even cooler when they seem...excessible. Nice to take humans over Gods/Goddesses.
But keep up the good work!

Okay, so I'm from South Africa, moved to Australia in 2010 with my parents and sister in order for my sister and I to have a better future. Β The move itself took us two years, now before those two years we sold our house and packed everything in a container ready to be shipped over. Β Our visa however, didn't arrive at the time we were told, about two years later. Β So during those years the four of us mooched from the family member to family member across South Africa waiting for our visa. Β During this time my sister and I could not go to school, not only because we moved that much but also because there was no such thing as a state school in South Africa and I was on my way to grade 8. Β So we did some homeschooling to keep our brains alive and fresh, but what I learn the most during this time was Photoshop. Β I learnt it inside out, back to front. Β I edited countless photos through that time and did even more tutorials, and now I've got so much Photoshop in my brain I've taught my photography teacher how to use it. Β
Anyway, since day one, August 3rd 2010 its been a struggle for me and my family. Β Luckily God helped us and now we're doing awesomely well, but as you can imagine coming from a non-English speaking background, into an English country, took some time to get used to. Β Good thing we learnt English in school in South Africa
This story can go on forever but I can say that I've been through quite a bit and survived, I know the things that were happening in South Africa, things from nightmares (not even exaggerating) and so whenever someone asks "Do you miss it?" Β I can safely and contently say no, because I am happy where I am, and I can see a good future for me here in Australia
