Yoda has always and will always be my favorite Star Wars character. Β You did a wonderful job on this! Β Nicely done. Β I only wish it was bigger size, I would so set this as my desktop wallpaper if it was. Β Anyway of getting this picture in a 1440x900 wallpaper size?

Looks sweet! Yoda rocks with a lightsaber....although I'm not sure how he can be considered wise if after 900 years he STILL hasn't figured out how to speak correctly....
Lol, I did a pic of yoda that I'm saving as a gift for my viewers when I hit 2k. Keep an eye out for it!

I love his expression!
When digitally coloring, do you "re-ink" your brush pen strokes, or do they scan in that clean/dark?
I love how all of your digital art is so...CLEAN and sharp. ::

thanks!
i sometimes adjust the brightness/contrast of my ink drawing in photoshop, to make the lines look a little bolder and crisper. and i color on a "multiply" layer so that none of the colors cover up the black lines (unless i want them to). but i would say for the most part my ink drawing looks pretty similar to the digital version -- i use a brush nib pen, so the strokes are fairly wide and bold.

Yeah, I figured the "brightness/contrast," I guess I'm just surprised that it looks so neat. Something about it just doesn't look like a marker/pen, but maybe itβs because the strokes are so wide and bold. I really should try inking my pencil drawings before scanning them for coloring. (I'm always afraid I'll change my mind later and want to color it with pencils or markers- in which case would look smudgy if I inked it first...)
I always appreciate you answering my questions, and thank you so much for telling me how you do things. Maybe I'll invest in a brush pen. . . looks like it could be fun to experiment with.
Thank you! (:

No problem. And just to put it out there -- brush pens are cheap as hell. The Faber-castell Pitt pens that I use are less than two bucks a piece. I get them from dickblick.com.
And I know people say it all the time, but practice is the key.. Just over the past two or three years my inking has improved a LOT, and I still feel like I need to improve. I think you just have to experiment with different types of brushes and pens, and find one that works well with your style and how your hand moves. Once you find a drawing tool that compliments your skill, that's when you'll really find your groove.
