Great color and use of multiple light sources! Is this PS or Painter or ?? Tablet or Cintiq? Just curious. Regardless, it's very well done.

Pretty much straight up PS. I've got some actual pencil textures, that I created, scanned in. But the bulk is PS. I gave Painter a shot about five years ago - but wasn't blown away. Thought the performance was lacking. Some of the brushes were nice - but once PS 5 introduced their mixer brushes - I don't see how Painter can compete any more. And yes - I've got a Wacom. Tried digital illustration for years without one, and don't know what I was thinking. Crucial!

Thanks for the great info. When you say you've got a Wacom I assume you have a Cintiq? I'm really new to the digital side of things. I have PS-CS5 and Painter 12 but really only use CS5. I only color (or attempt to color) my lineart with it. I'm currently using the Wacom Intous 4 but I feel a little disconnected with the tablet. I've been considering a Cintiq 24HD. When I see painting like yours it reminds me of the awesome capability of digital media these days. I really like it when I'm not sure if it's traditional/digital or some mix of the two. It's a Wacom Intuos 3 6x11. It's about 7 years old. I love it.
Yes, there's tons of great digital/traditional illustration inspiration out on the net. It's wonderful to park in front of the computer and check out the incredible work from artists round the globe!
