Grant, I'd still love to see a webcomic series with all of your detailed characters!

Great piece. The longer I look at it the more interesting it becomes. It feels like everything is connected to each other. She has bits of the forest aspects in her, and the imp and the lady seem to favor each other a bit. Very nice Grant

I love that there is a lot of fine detail in this drawing but both of their gazes are rather, well, not grim, but aloof. If that's what you intended, that's great, but I get the feeling that the lady and the little imp are thinking very haughty, or in the very least, bored, thoughts.

The woman in the drawing looks like she's on a mission. She looks like she's longing for something or searching for something that's missing. I love how she's surrounded by the leaves and the trees. The little guy in the one tree seems to be watching over her closely. I think it's a great piece of art. I love how everything is shaded.

I love the details in this. I've noticed that many female artists give feminine features to male characters and often male artists give masculine features to female characters. Your art keeps it in perspective between the male features in the imp and the feminine features in the elf. Very good!

how do you get your shading so smooth? i dont have any drawings up sadly and ive been a member for 3years.. working on it now but i cant seem to get the shading that smooth are u using any tools or just pencil?

GrantWilson In reply to HethFire67 [2012-12-28 01:44:57 +0000 UTC]

Just a pencil. I used a harder lead for the finer shading. A harder lead gives you less mark so you can draw more without putting down such a dark line.

Have you tried using blending stumps? They really cheap and also help with shading for bigger areas like the tree
