Pearl and baby Steven in the back of Greg’s van. Even though he didn’t live with the Gems until he was older, you can’t tell me that they weren’t a huge part of his young life. I pretty much just started on this because I kept seeing things saying "Pearl doesn't REALLY love Steven as his own person". I just don't know how you can come to that conclusion. The only real criticism I have is that Pearls mouth, in particular her teeth, look a bit odd and that the hand patting Stevens head looks too small and that her right arm seems to kinda dissappear into the blanket. Other than that it's a great picture with awesome coloring ^v^d

I agree. To say that pearl doesn't really love steven is to look at a couple scenes and completely ignore every other episode of the show. She clearly misses rose, and when steven reminds her of rose, she projects. Which she stops doing when it's pointed out to her (at the end of space race, and sworn to the sword).

Exactly! She's millennia old, vividly recalls conversations dating thousands of years ago, has shown exceptional photographic memory, and lost someone she loved more than anything at most eleven years ago. And as someone with PTSD, I can safely say that Pearl clearly has some form of it. She's bound to relive memories from that, if not simply be virtue of being an ageless being. That's something I look forward to seeing explored. Truly, all the Crystal Gems love Steven, and Pearl shows it in the most overbearingly motherly way.
