Description
When it’s been three seasons and you’re still obsessed with that one scene.I’m so proud of this and the red strip and all the emotion and the contrast and just everything about it-
Iida deserves more time to shine. Here’s hoping season five is a good season for him.

A one man riot, featuring me, who will be dragged away raving like a mad man as I attempt to pull knives out of my arm with my teeth like my idol

If only more people cared about Iida, if he had as many stans as todoroki, they wouldn’t be able to arrest us all

I hate it too. I may be incredibly biased, but I stand by my claim that Tenya has the best representation of trauma in the entire story.

I think Todoroki undeniably has it pretty bad, but I genuinely am in love with Tenya’s writing. Todoroki is a very stereotypical character who went through trauma and now he’s quiet but kinda angsty. But it only effects him when it’s convenient for the plot. Tenya’s trauma presents itself as crippling anxiety to the point that he lashes out in violence against the person he cares so much about in the first place. The line where he says to Midoriya “when I see you in the hospital, I see my brother too,” is perfectly laced with his personal trauma, as well as a clear demonstration of his deep love for Midoriya. When he punches Midoriya in the face, it is not out of hate or anger, but fear that he will get himself hurt in the same way Tenya did. He is the only person who learned anything from the battle with Stain, and when he aims to stop Midoriya from his plan to save Bakugou, it’s not because he cares about the law, it’s because he doesn’t want Midoriya to make the mistakes he did. Tenya actually learned, and this is a key moment of his character growth.
Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk.

I love writing these but get scared people are annoyed by them lol.
I love him because his character’s archetype exists in plenty of stories, but he subverts the trope. Iida should have been the overly logical character who doesn’t understand feelings and it’s a whole joke, except then he wasn’t. Instead he has been made into a hyperemotional character who despite seeming calm and rational, actually has a lot of feelings.
I single-handedly love Iida enough for the whole fandom.

I do take time to write them, but I think up the stuff pretty quick.
I love him because he’s all about dichotomy if you think about it. He walks the line between following the law and vigilante justice, bravery and cowardice, confidence and anxiety, and being rational and emotional. I think the fact he does walk the line between such strong opposites is what makes him balanced. Even still, he is inherently flawed by this variety of negative traits, but he understands these shortcomings from day one, and all he does is seek to grow. Seems to me Iida is a bit of a regretful person, the type who wants to avoid the fate of his last day on earth, where the person he became meets the person he could have become. He wants those two to be the same. He seems really one dimensional at first, but the more I think about him, the more I think he’s quite dynamic. Which only makes me more sad to see him relegated to the background.

Ah you’ve got it all wrong. I’ll only marry him for the tax benefits, and he’ll be my best friend.
It really bothers me just how well developed he is because he is more interesting than many of the other characters who get more screen time.

If you think the ways I simp for Iida are bad, you should see how I simp for any of the female characters.

You’ve already read my TEDtalk on Uraraka, and it’s a tragedy she’s not unique anymore.

I don’t know but every scene Uraraka had post “you’re in love! Who is it, Iida or Midoriya, you’re always hanging out with them!” was just not the same

If Todoroki saving Iida is grounds for a ship, then Iida saving Kaminari should be grounds for a ship by that same logic.
