this is a sketch from a long time ago. pretty lame, with very little redeeming charm. my main disappointment with this one is how poorly it conveys the idea. if he's a couch surfer, he's clearly a beginner. he'll wipeout every time. the stance is all wrong. if i had turned his torso about ninety degrees to his right, i think it would "read" better. the stereotypical surfer look (shaggy hair, hemp necklace with glass bead, etc.) didn't help much to make it any clearer, either. also, his facial proportions are just... weird. i have a lot of ideas that would improve this drawing greatly, but... i'll probably never mess with it again. i can't even remember why i drew it in the first place.
