STORY:
Graphite Sketch was originally a unicorn who liked to draw and wanted to become an artist when she grew up, but as she got older, she realized that if she studied magic, maybe she could find a way to improve her art skills. Soon enough, Graphite has learned enough magic to improve not only her art skills, but her socially skills as well. She was like any normal pony, didn't really talk to strangers, and so on. Now she had a whole circle of friends, Orange Creamsicle, Pinkberry Freeze, Florida Everglades, Fluorescent Blueberry (Mary Sue), Shine Glitz, and herself. They all studied together for a long while, maybe for weeks, helping each other get a better understanding of each other and their goals. All of Graphites friends helped her learn enough magic to make her art skills almost as amazing as The Kings Of Art themselves (I have no idea who they are). Princess Luna, Graphites favorite princess (For reasons unnamed) came to her in a dream one night, and said to her "If you can solve this riddle of art, I will grant you with wings, and pronounce you an alicorn princess". Graphite and her friends found the answer to the riddle and Luna kept to her word. Now, to this day, Graphite is an Alicorn ,with many friends and her deviantart people. Because she had no life. Well, everyone has their own way of thinking, and are entitled to their own opinion. It doesnt bother me though that you think that though. Just because I have seen way worse OCs that are alicorns. Mistly why I picked simple colors

I do have that opinion that all alicorns are mary sues just because of the level of magical power they posses which makes them the equivalent of a god. I'm glad that you have a valid story, and that method of becoming an alicorn could fit into the canon. The thing that really gets me is when I ask, how did he/she become an alicorn, and the answer is "they were born that way" cause that is not how alicorns are made. Celestia and Luna may be the only exception, in the fact that we don't know where they came from so they may have been born alicorns. But I think that they were originally earth ponies who saved the world and ascended to become gods.

She has the normal abilities of a pegasus-unicorn, but in her situation she was a bit like twilight, so she because an alicorn.
