“...injured..[Audio is garbled]…After a few days of hardship we found what we were looking for. The signal was emanating from a sub-basement of a overgrown facility; it was so damaged by time and a lack of maintenance that we could not tell what the place’s original purpose was. Maybe it was a research lab or, some kind of university annex? Any signage that might have indicated its purpose was long gone, buried under the vines so deep we could not find it. The portable sensors we brought indicated the spatial anomaly that we had come so far to study was still putting out high energy particulate but thankfully it wasn’t radioactive or worse reality-altering. As we began to make preparations to enter the building and investigate further we heard the distant crack of a starship based weapon firing. Everyone looked roughly in the direction of the sound and was given the distant noises of other weapons of similar magnitude being fired. I called the [Unintelligible due to data corruption] to find out what was going on and nearly went deaf as a cry of sheer terror blasted my ears. Snippets of communications traffic flooded through the communications channel. It took several moments for us to piece together what was happening and while we were we did not immediately notice that danger was near. On the communications frequencies there were more frantic cries. The vines that covered everything were breaching our ship at the landing zone! This stuff was far more dangerous than we thought, then as we were hearing final frantic sounds of shooting, curses, terrified wails of agony and a loud explosion. Over the ‘treeline’ we saw the rising cloud of a explosion and my heart sunk, the Decatuer was gone. We now had no way off this world and no way to call the other ships in our expedition. As this sunk in there was a nearby yelp of pain and the sound of a struggle. The vines were dragging off our wounded!  A few of our guys tried to shoot at the stuff and for their trouble one hit two of our people being dragged off. We hustled into the facility with the spatial anomaly somewhere inside hoping the weeds didn’t follow…”
