This is Valance Kyre, a character envisioned by one of my closest friends.

The main character in his epic story, The Song of Swords, Valance wields the Neo Genesis, the predecessor of all other blades, the ruler of those forged of the Meteor, and the sword eternally sheathed.

Yeah, the sword is in its elaborate scabbard in this pic, with parts of the black blade showing through.
