I instantly took a liking to these beasts. To me, they are not evil. They are certainly capable of forming strong comradery.

It's easy to forget that even if these species are dangerous in the hands of Grimmel, who vilely controls them- they are still dragons and can be playful and nice.

Exactly. I'm not familiar with all the HTTYD lore, but I found out you can actually train and ride them in a game. Which showcases they can indeed be gentle on their own with the right approach

Love this piece! Your technical skills are amazing, but the expressions and attitude of the piece really bring forth how special this is. I really hope you're one of the winners in this contest

I tried my best to find a suitable pose and activity for them, did some sketches (even romantic ones, lol!) and ultimately this is the result. There aren't many good references for them, so there may be some odd shapes here and there... Thank you very, very much!

You are so right! I've wanted to draw these guys since the movie came out but it's just so hard to find references :'} You did an excellent job though, I still really hope this piece gets some kind of recognition in the contest, even if it doesn't win top 3
