Description
My fingers tremble,Against black keys emitting piano tunes
and my lips tumble out foreign words.
There is a discarded pen on the sheets beside me.
His lonely ink spilling from broken cap onto white linens.
Anger and anxiety and emptiness gnaw like lonesome vultures
at the bottom of my stomach.
My shoulders crinkle with a shiver
and truck tires make a splatter of noise against the pavement.
I want to write myself out,
bleed out my wordy blood onto empty pages.
I want to sleep out all of my anxieties.
All I can write is silly almost-love poems
When I need my words for academics.
All my smart words have been unwritten:
They are unbound books that caused
fingers to tremble against black keys.
Black on white.
Ink on sheets, blood dripping from carved letters.

If you're still feeling melancholy, our winter break Titanic-watching get together and fellowship will probably get your cleansing cry out. Probably a good time for it I suppose-- despite people freezing to death on the film and it being winter now :d It'll either make us feel colder or more appreciative of heat.

Haha, probably. We'll have to do that! I think it'll make us more appreciative of the heat--it definitely snowed here today...

No snow here yet, but I think we're on 'watch' for some. After last year I'm not sure I want any now. The thought of it and coldness in general depresses me.

Yeah, everyone around here is saying we're going to get a couple of feet here before the winter's done. Oh but it was so lovely walking back from my first exam of the year in the snow. [/sarcasm]

Think of it this way! You are now a Sophmore! Congratulations!
The poem sounds really sad... Shouldn't you be happy?

Oh, I'm not yet a sophmore, still got a semester before that happens. But I am kind of sad, I'm growing up and that's hard. There are so many things happening and it's a whirlwing. That's what I'm trying to convey.

Good point.. Growing up is never fun. Now that you say that, I went back and looked at the poem again. It made more sense the second time around.

Don't get me wrong, it's been enjoyable. But like any adventure there have been failures and tragedies along the way. But it wouldn't be life, and it wouldn't be a journey if that wasn't the truth.
