thanks..it was hard shoot. Was using a consumer camera at the time, it was supposed to be cloudy..but the sun was real bright.

She is on model mayhem and travels to Ca. I highly recomemend working with her if you have a chance.

I love this image but i don't like the pose for her. Because of the length of her neck, may you should have gone with a pose that showed her kicking the tires or something. She is a great model and I wish I could work with her. The pose just looks odd. May have her looking under the hood. I may have something else I can scan for you out of a pose book that will help with this model.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have several more from this series I have yet to edit.
Pose book? Let me know the name of the book..I will go look for it.

Its called The Portrait Photography's Guide to Posing by Bill Hurter and the other one is Corrective Lighting and Posing Techniques for Portrait Photographers by Jeff Smith. I know that is not what we do but it's the little things that we should know that help. If you are anything like me, you never had a class in photography or went to school for it. Everything I know I learned from reading a surfing the internet. Both these books are a big help, covers the stuff you would have gotten in the 101 or 201 of photography. If you need anything let me know I can always scan.

Thanks, I will see if I can find it. And yes, I haven't taken a class in photo. I have always had a passing interest, but been far too busy with other things to do photogs. IT has only been the last year I started really doing it (and only 3-4 months with models and just getting into PS).

Well then welcome to the PS Learning Hell. LOL I can tell you now you will never learn it all just what you need. LOL. Feel free to ask me anything if I don't know I will shoot an email to my Adobe friends that I know.

What location was this taken in? What town?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gray-Line-Studios In reply to timothy8fish2day [2006-05-17 23:13:56 +0000 UTC]

Ok Ciara, this is more then you probally want to know, but here it goes.....
It is downtown Pamplin, VA.. About 10 miles east of Appomattox Va. (place where Lee surrendered to Grant to end the US Cival War). It was a thriving town with railroads and factories until the 1930's when a major fire destroyed most of downtown, before the town was rebuilt, the depression struck. Today, Main St. is about 8 buildings that are in bad need or repair. The railroad still comes through, but it doesn't stop.

Sorry if i ran on too long..But I like to research my locations as much as I can....
